How to Wear a Simple Tank with High-Waisted Jean Shorts

I recently just submitted a piece to eHow on how to wear high-waisted jeans in which I featured jean shorts, skinny jeans, and flared jeans. This look was one of the high-waisted jean short outfits. I kept it simple with a boxy tank top since the fit of the shorts was very fitted.
Other tops you can pair with a high-waisted slim fit jean shorts is a crop top fitted or loose, an oversized or loose blouse worn tucked or un-tucked, a t-shirt tied into a knot at the waist, and a ruffled or flow-y top or tank. Here are the details on this look:

Black & White Outfit in LA's Arts District

Happy Monday! I've been obsessing over my Bloom That flowers which I shared in my last post and had received at the Whitney Eve Summer 15 Preview. I wanted to include pics from my LA casual look that I wore the day of the preview. I took the train from OC to LA that morning and wanted to be comfy but still put together. I wore black, distressed skinny jeans; a white sweater with a open back detail and my go-to black booties. My neutral black and white look really popped against the graffiti walls of LA's Arts District. Here are the details:

Mixing Black & White Prints

For one of my most recent style posts on eHow, The Basics Behind Mixing Prints, I included this black and white striped blazer and skirt ensemble. I wanted to show how you can print mix the same print and colors, but still contrasting stripe patterns. You can usually mix any two black and white prints together, but I tend to pair a simple with bold print. For this look specifically, I mixed  thin with thicker striped pieces, I broke up the two stripe patterns with a black cami underneath the blazer. Here's what I wore:

Simple All White Outfit

In this look, I wanted to dress up a pair of white denim cargo jeans, so I styled a flowy tank and simple vest to create a bold look. Banana Republic Chambray & AYR Denim

I enjoy mixing denim on denim and this look styles a Banana Republic Denim-Looking Chambray Button Down with a pair of AYR wax-coated black jeans. I just love the sheen from the jeans which pairs well with the chambray top which also has a kind of sheen to it. The blazer thrown over the shoulder pull the look together with sophistication. Valley High + Honey N Silk at Coachella

Clothing label Valley High and fashion blogger Stephanie Liu teamed up to host Valley High Presents #HoneyNFriends a Coachella pre-game event at a house in Palm Springs this past weekend.
