Floral Shift Dress in the Heat

Sacramento could have had me fooled for being an Arizonian city because it was unbelievably hot and dry when I visited last month. I'm so very glad I brought this light, floral printed shift dress; which had me feeling like a desert rose. I had also received a druzy lariat necklace from The Two Hand Exchange before leaving for SacTown, and it perfectly complemented my dress. Details on the look below:

Mirrored Sunglasses & Tropical Prints for Summer

On one of these hot summer days, I decided to wear my tropical printed dress from Whitney Eve which I thought to be quite fitting for the season. I also like that it's a bit more understated with the colors of the print and neutral fabric paneling. The neckline give focus to the shoulders, and I wore a multi-stranded necklace from 31 Bits. Had to shade my eyes from the bright sun, so I wore my new ZeroUV sunnies. This dress definitely is one of my go-to pieces this summer, what are some of your go-to pieces? How to Wear a Simple Tank with High-Waisted Jean Shorts

I recently just submitted a piece to eHow on how to wear high-waisted jeans in which I featured jean shorts, skinny jeans, and flared jeans. This look was one of the high-waisted jean short outfits. I kept it simple with a boxy tank top since the fit of the shorts was very fitted.
Other tops you can pair with a high-waisted slim fit jean shorts is a crop top fitted or loose, an oversized or loose blouse worn tucked or un-tucked, a t-shirt tied into a knot at the waist, and a ruffled or flow-y top or tank. Here are the details on this look:

Wave the American Flag! Happy 4th of July!

Happy Saturday! If you're celebrating Independence Day, then I hope it is a fun and safe one! Happy July 4th! I wanted to share these photos from a shoot with Renee in which Dee from Swell Beauty did my hair and make up, and local sunglasses company zeroUV was on set to film and photograph a behind-the-scenes look at when I'm shooting for FFF! Projection LA

Renee and I ventured up to the Silverlake area in LA to take photos at the deserted Sunset Pacific Motel, also known as the 'Bates Motel', which was painted completely white (including the surrounding palm trees and billboard) by French artist Vincent Lamouroux. Projection, is produced by Please Do Not Enter, and is a temporary art installation standing in all it's stark white glory on Sunset blvd. I wore my Girls on Film Palm Printed romper from Little Mistress which was quite fitting for the hot, first day of summer, and it popped quite well against the white background.

The property is completely surrounded by barbed wire fencing, although with careful inspection by Renee and I, it seems that the fence has been heavily tampered with and then patched up. If you check out Projection's Instagram you can see that a few individuals have made it onto the premises.

Mixing Black & White Prints

For one of my most recent style posts on eHow, The Basics Behind Mixing Prints, I included this black and white striped blazer and skirt ensemble. I wanted to show how you can print mix the same print and colors, but still contrasting stripe patterns. You can usually mix any two black and white prints together, but I tend to pair a simple with bold print. For this look specifically, I mixed  thin with thicker striped pieces, I broke up the two stripe patterns with a black cami underneath the blazer. Here's what I wore:
