Summer Heat Cooldown in a Maxi Dress

With so cal experiencing the weirdest humid weather, this summer maxi dress from Triple Thread OC is the perfect pop of color and keeps me cool in the dense heat. I love the print and the crochet top and tie detail; a printed maxi dress like this can be paired with sandals or wedges for a go-to summer look.

I shot in this dress with Shawna of Bleudog Fotography while down in San Juan Capistrano, and we found the coolest painted horse statue to take pictures with. If you head down to the Mission San Juan Capistrano, you may spot him and another horse friend nearby on the sidewalk. Have an amazing 4th of July weekend everyone! Shop Triple Thread OC here. 1960s Style Throwback

For the third look that I shot with Joelle for her etsy shop, Vita Vintage Girl, I rocked this lace up mod-like 1960s sheath dress. I love the simple lines of the dress and the lace up detail at the neckline. I found the round sunglasses in Joelle's car and thought it very fitting for some retro vibes. I attempted to tease my hair a bit and tie to the side for a different look, then Joelle snapped some pics of me at the park and in front of this super rad VW van! If you're looking to go a bit more literal with a mod-style or other retro dress or outfit, modernize the look with a pair of a classic pair of shoes you own, for this instance, I wore my black booties that I wore with the other two looks. Check out more pieces in the Vita Girl Vintage shop!Photos taken by Joelle Nguyen.

Vintage Tropical Print Pants

The second look shot by Joelle features tropical print pants from Vita Girl Vintage. I kept the look simple with a white button down and black booties. This look brought me back to my loose wearing pant days in Vietnam, which helped keep me cool in the humid weather. Due to the loose fit of the pants, and I had a loose fitting shirt, I tucked the shirt into the waistband of the bands to give my silhouette more shape. I also wore this look to the KIN LA event here. Photos taken by Joelle Nguyen.

Vintage White Lace Tunic

I met with Joelle, photographer and owner of etsy vintage shop Vita Girl Vintage, and was stoked to get to work together because a) Joelle is a super rad person (with rad style) and photographer (she has an amazing creative eye) b) I love vintage clothing and was excited to see the goods first hand c) I got to shoot in a few vintage pieces (and take them home too). The first look features this lace tunic which I styled with rust colored 'mom' (high-waisted) shorts underneath, my fringe booties, and a few pieces of turquoise and camel-colored jewelry. I felt like a boho princess frolicking and dancing through the forest. The lace piece is perfect for a hot summer day, and I have two more looks coming your way but in the meantime, go shop Vita Girl Vintage for your perfect vintage piece!
