How to Wear a Simple Tank with High-Waisted Jean Shorts
I recently just submitted a piece to eHow on how to wear high-waisted jeans in which I featured jean shorts, skinny jeans, and flared jeans. This look was one of the high-waisted jean short outfits. I kept it simple with a boxy tank top since the fit of the shorts was very fitted.
Other tops you can pair with a high-waisted slim fit jean shorts is a crop top fitted or loose, an oversized or loose blouse worn tucked or un-tucked, a t-shirt tied into a knot at the waist, and a ruffled or flow-y top or tank. Here are the details on this look:
Sunglasses, ZeroUV
Tank, Mango
Shorts, H&M
Pointed Faux Leather Sneakers, Forever 21

Mixing Stripe and Floral Prints
A fun way to mix prints is with stripes and florals. Usually stripes can seamlessly pair with other prints; in this look, I styled a thinly striped button down tucked into an abstract, floral printed skirt. This look works well because the stripe pattern of the top is symmetrical and simple which balances the bold floral print of the skirt. I chose the blue stripe because it mimics a blue shade in the floral print. Read my full eHow article on the 'The Basic of Mixing Prints'. Here are details on the outfit:

Mixing Black & White Prints
For one of my most recent style posts on eHow, The Basics Behind Mixing Prints, I included this black and white striped blazer and skirt ensemble. I wanted to show how you can print mix the same print and colors, but still contrasting stripe patterns. You can usually mix any two black and white prints together, but I tend to pair a simple with bold print. For this look specifically, I mixed thin with thicker striped pieces, I broke up the two stripe patterns with a black cami underneath the blazer. Here's what I wore:
Jacket, Maison Jules
Lace Trim Cami, Forever 21
Skirt, The Limited
Boots, Mango

Simple All White Outfit
I've posted two other all white outfits here and here, and my 'How to Wear White' story has been published on eHow which you can read here. In this look, I wanted to dress up a pair of white denim cargo jeans, so I styled a flowy tank and simple vest to create a bold look. I finished the look with strappy white heels, see the outfit details below:

eHow Project Throwdown - Denim Do Over

I've been writing for eHow.com for the past two months and it has been a blast! I'm excited to be apart of eHow's Project Throwdown in which I, along with other contributors were challenged to create a craft or project from four set materials: old denim, key rings, feathers, and lace. Each project will be shared on eHow's pinterest #ProjectThrowdown board and the project with the most pins from June 5-July7 will be featured! With my brother's old pair of jeans and a lace ribbon, I created a small pennant garland for my room. I used the key rings and feathers along with bits and pieces of lace as embellishment for the pennants. Create your own pennant garland with the supplies and instructions below!

What You'll Need:
- Shears (Fabric Scissors) and Regular Scissors
- Cardboard (new or used)
- Black Marker
- Key Rings
- Feathers (I purchased feather bundles with fishing wire rings at the end)
- 2 Yards of .5in wide Lace
- Any other lace you want to cut and string onto the keyrings along with the feathers
- .5in Grommets (10 for 5 pennant flags)
- Crop-A-Dile Punch (this multi-functional tool can be used to seal grommets and punch holes through fabric, if you have tools to substitute then use what you have instead)
- Old Jeans
Step 1: Pennant Flag Template
On the cardboard, take a pen or marker and draw out your pennant flag template, then cut out with the regular scissors. I made my pennant flag template 6in x 6in.
Step 2: Cut the Denim
If you're using old jeans, fold the jeans in half (front or back) and cut the legs of the jeans off with the shears. Then with the leg of the jeans, cut down the side seam so you have a wide piece of fabric.
Step 3: Trace Pennant Shape
Place the pennant template on the flat surface of the inside of the jeans and start to trace the template onto the jeans with a black marker.Step 4: Cut Out Pennant Flags
Cut out the traced pennant flags from the jeans.
Step 5: Punch Holes for Grommets
With the Crop-A-Dile tool (or another punch tool or scissors), punch a hole in each corner of the pennant, make sure it is far enough in so that when you add the grommet into the hole it won't hang off the edge of the pennant flag. Once you have both pieces of the grommet in the hole, use the Crop-A-Dile tool to crunch or seal the grommet in place. Repeat for all the holes in the pennant flags.

Step 6: Make Feather Keyrings
Stretch the keyring open and slide on the feather bundles, also slide on bits of lace if you'd like. Make as many feather kingrings as you need for each pennant. When sliding on the feathers with the fishing wire end, be sure not to tug too hard on the fishing wire or it might come undone.Step 7: Making Garland
Start lacing the .5in lace through the grommets, before lacing through both grommets on the pennant flag, lace one of the feather key rings onto the lace and place at the center of the pennant. Repeat for all the pennant flags.
Step 8: Display the Pennant Garland
To easily hang up your pennant garland on hooks or nails, add/tie a keyring on each end of the lace. Find a place to display!
