Sky Blue Pants for the Spring Season

I've been quite in the Spring mood since this weekend and wanted to wear some color to LA Fashion Council's Day 1 of Fall/Winter 2015 Collections yesterday, so I immediately thought of my sky blue wide pants. I am absolutely obsessed with this color and it got me right in an upbeat, bubbly mood. I kept my top neutral but mixed it up with texture by wearing a lace and immaculately pearl beaded collar and a simple cream blazer over the shoulders. The pants got an extra pop when I used my vibrant coral clutch, creating a marriage of complementary colors. Of course, the runway lights were bright, so couldn't be without my ZeroUV sunglasses. See deets for the look below and follow me on Instagram | Twitter | Facebook for LAFC fashion show and presentation updates today! My hair was also looking unstyled today and bless my stars the Glam Squad team was posted up at LAFC so I was able to get my hair fully styled as well as my make up touched up! Check out this amazing new mobile beauty company that's currently serving Los Angeles.

Headshots & Portfolio Work by Renee Rogers

I'm off to LA Fashion Council A/W 15 Collection Showings in DTLA and can't wait to share my coverage, but in the meantime, follow my adventures on Instagram | Twitter | Facebook. Before heading out to La La Land, I wanted to share how my dear friend Renee Rogers is an amazing artist; she not only is the designer for 16th Colony, a style blogger for Hanger Shortage, but a phenomenal photographer and filmmaker. We had run into each other at a couple local blogger events, but finally got the chance to connect over coffee and it has been a creative romance ever since. I am addicted to her carefree, but chic style; she is beyond supportive of all my endeavors, and inspiring on so many levels that I push myself harder to achieve my wildest dreams. You can see our collaborations here, and these headshots and other snaps below are what she photographed for my modeling portfolio since I have decided to pursue modeling. I wanted a more down to earth, personal feel with my photos and Renee captured just that; book her for all your photo and video needs:

OC Fashion Week Sugar Rush 2015

Day 2 of OC Fashion Week, Sugar Rush Autumn/Winter 2015 on Saturday February 28th brought together guests and fashion and style makers at the Newport Lexus dealership to experience a line up of designers showcasing swimwear, evening dresses, and accessories including friends What a Betty, Salt Shoes (I unfortunately didn't snap any pics of the designs but you can see the shoes in the video below), and fellow blogger Kimberly Luu's designs. I was excited to get to discover other designers ranging from bikinis by Brit B Beach Candy and Manoni Handbags to Victoria by Elizabeth pencil skirts and dresses by Claire Farwell.  I was also very excited to not only catch up with good blogger friends but also meet new bloggers, it's such a small but growing community in Orange County! The space was very vast and beautiful and completely a full house, but I felt that the designers could have been showcased a bit more; perhaps feature accessory designers through a live installation or presentation instead of a runway show, that way guests can take a longer and detailed look at each piece. There's a little bit of an inconsistency with the models (height) so it was just very noticeable for me and I feel it takes away from the overall aesthetic of a designer's collection. There were also some very interesting runway walks, but at least the models 'owned' their walk and tried to make it fierce (although I must admit that some 'walks' were distracting and took away from the designs being presented). All in all an interesting evening for OC fashion, but I'm happy to be able to support fellow designer friends. Tartan Remix

While checking out the RARE by Goodwill store in Anaheim, I stumbled across this classic tartan printed pleated skirt (totally Clueless vibes, just need a matching jacket) that I had to have, so I tried it on and it fit perfectly so I brought it home with me. It had an oversized safety pin at the bottom of the skirt giving it an edgier, 'punk-rock' look, so I styled it with a crop top and faux leather jacket. To complete my homage to the 90s grunge era with my twist on it, I had Dee of Swell Beauty do this awesome faux hawk braid ponytail hair style on me (check out the tutorial here) as well as add a red lip, and I wore a cherry necklace from Katy Perry's Eat Your Heart Out collection at Claire's and my fave silver mesh sunnies from ZeroUV. Deets on the entire look:

1. Start with dry hair. Pull hair from the top and use the dry shampoo on the roots. Section the sprayed hair into three parts to braid and secure with 1 rubberband at the end of the braid.2. Grab a section of hair from the ponytail and wrap around the rubberband. Secure with bobby pins.3. Grab the rest of your hair and pull into one ponytail with the smaller ponytail and secure with the hair tie.

4.Grab a section of hair from the big ponytail and wrap around the exposed hair tie, pin into place with bobby pins. 5. Use the Redken Wax Spray to tame any flyways, the S Factor Dream Drops for the ponytail hair ends, the Headrush shine spray for overall shine, and the Hard Head hairspray all over to keep the style intact.
