Whitney Eve Summer 15 Collection

Last Friday, I took the train from OC to Union Station in LA and Renee picked me up and we headed to an event to preview the Whitney Eve Summer 15 collection and meet Whitney herself at the Indoor LA, a rad event space in the heart of the Arts District in DTLA (so rad that I wanted to move in and live there). Whitney was inspired by tropical vibes and created a line that wasn't as literal with all tropical prints and bright colors, but instead incorporated perforated fabrics, lace, subtle cheetah patterns and tropical floral prints in more neutral hues like black, white, and blush pink. I especially liked how she mixed prints and textures together to create interesting and detailed pieces such as paneled summer dresses, two pieces, athletic jackets and jogger pants/shorts, and off the shoulder tops; you can shop the entire collection here.
I got to take home a piece from the collection, snagging the Hidden Dress and I can't wait to unashamedly wear it every day this summer. Organized by BK Events, the other guests and I also enjoyed complimentary manis by Beauty & Wellness app Priv, fashion illustrations by the uber talented Jeanette Getrost, bites from Urban Palate and juice from Juice Served Here. Along with my Whitney Eve piece, I also took home a bag of goodies which included a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Bloom That, and products from Urban Radish, Coordinates Collection, and First Aid Beauty.

VSA Design's Piccolo Collection

Jewelry label Virgins Saints and Angels asked me to stop by their LA showroom to check out their newest collection, Piccolo, featuring LA Blogger, Ruby Element! I even got to chat with designer Cheryl 'Finn' Finnegan about the current and upcoming collections as well as try on a few, or maybe many pieces. Piccolo features a selection of dainty San Benito Lucia pendant necklaces, rings, and cuff designs, and the Lucia Charm Necklace is currently available at Nordstrom.com!
Designer Finn was such a pleasure to get to know; her designs are very bold and have an almost 'gothic' look to them, all influenced by the culture of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico where she currently resides. VSA has been seen on countless celebrities, one being Britney Spears who rocked a VSA belt buckle back in 2004, thus launching the brand into stardom. Discover more about VSA here!

Sauri FW15 at LA Fashion Council Collection Showings

Known for his signature skate and street style aesthetic, LA designer Kyle Awtry presented his SAURI FW15 collection at LA Fashion Council. The collection was filled with simple denim and chambray pieces, as well as lace layers and loungewear-like clothing. The line was made for 'that every cool girl from Venice to Downtown, skateboard or no skateboard, wants to wear right now'. My favorite piece was the denim maxi dress that had an interesting cut out and neckline. Most of the other pieces were casual with a conceptual touch from Awtry. Pull over jackets and sweatershirts were made a bit more appealing with fabric mixing, but I felt as if some of the bottoms were ill-fitting on the models.
